It was the now and forever Ring of Honor Women's world champion Athena vs Hikaru Shida. it wasn't specifically video game themed, and Shida usually wrestles in cosplay style gear. The reason I call Shida the real life fem Kiryu is because she cosplays him a lot.

Also I missed it the first time (because different sub), so it actually adds value for people like me. So as far as reposts go I'd say it's at least done with good "etiquette" and representing the most legitimate use-case for them.

Come to think about it, cosplay pro wrestling sounds like it would be sick as hell.
I want to see Godzilla and Harry Dubois tag team against Captain America and Laezel.

A lot of wrestlers come out in cosplay gear for televised matches. Hikaru Shida does it all the time. Will Osprey did Assassin's Creed recently. Zelina Vega has a ton of cosplays.
It's not themed match cosplay lol, but it's definitely more of a trend now for people to theme their gear off of games.

Is it weird that I know nothing about her, but somehow these photos immediately make me think she's probably super-wholesome outside of the ring? Something about her body language just makes me feel like there's a lot of dorky warmth underneath that badassery.
