the most skilled of animators, the most skilled of actors, couldn't replicate the subtlety yet bravado of emotion that swept that child's face

God, it's the face of my little sister when she was just a wee brat.
That perfect look of purity (and arrogance) right be for the crushing reality.

To add salt to the injury, i would pull on the shackle and would find the loose spots in the wheels(gates) to open it.
Edit: to those commenting about it, i intentionally mixed both 'rubbing salt in the wound' and 'add insult to injury'

To add salt to the injury
I've heard "rubbing salt in the wound" and "add insult to injury", but this just feels wrong

It was probably translated from another language, like "Tacar sal na ferida" in portuguese

I think it's a r/boneappletea

Nope, doesn't qualify as such, i just mixed two things to make a new one because i knew it would trigger redditors to comment.

I ntentionally mixed both 'rubbing salt in the wound' and 'add insult to injury', so it would be a more engaging comment.

I'm just imagineering someone uselessly rubbing salt on a bruise or fracture.

I've done something similar tbh lol. It's an osprey bag and the zipper pulls have holes at the base you can put the lock through, but the pull which are like idk 3 inches long have holes at the top too. So in a rush I've definitely put it through that and yeah it opens like a 6 inch gap lmao

I'm thinking perhaps a dictionary?
Sorry for the bad joke. It was because of your use of the word "their" when you meant "there". 😁

Yep. That's about the kind of reply I would expect from someone who uses words like "bruh" and "whateva" in a sentence.
Your comments are amusing, if not a scathing rebuke on our public education system. So, good on you for that, I guess.

Bruh and whateva are perfectly justifiable slang? I see no reason to be this pedantic.

perfectly justifiable slang
Thank you for acknowledging my point. Slang, by it's very definition, is most certainly not considered to be a form of "educated" speech. Thus, my initial point about the scathing rebuke of the public education system is definitely valid.
Further to the point, OP felt the need to reply to a friendly grammatical correction by being a smartass. Hence, the amusing, to me anyway, subsequent back and forth.

Broski, English is my first language

u/TaibhseSD 23h ago
Really? Fascinating.
The way you seem to butcher the language, as well as having a difficult time understanding it, led me to believe it isn't.
My mistake.

u/ridinbend 23h ago
An yes, Polish is your first language eh? I too love a good Broski when I'm hungry.
