Power BI integration on Viva Goals Trial

Signed up for a Viva Goals trial (I am the IT admin at our company) and was hoping to find a way to display our Goals in SharePoint. Apparently that isn't possible, but I did notice there is a Power BI integration (and Sharepoint has a Power BI webpart). However, when I go to the Viva Admin settings / integration, I see only Teams, Excel Online, and Planner. Is this because I am on a Trial that I can't see Power BI?

EDIT: I have a Power BI Pro license already.

Developer or MS Partner Viva licenses?

Hi there, not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but is there any way for developers or MS partners to get free licenses for Viva? Asking as I have a developer tenant which comes with free E3/E5 for that purpose, but does not seem to come with anything Viva-related other than the few pieces that are included in the bundle. I'm trying to get familiar with the tool as we would potentially be helping sell/do implementations.

SharePoint webpart for Insights?

Hi all - I can see a Viva Connections webpart but this would mostly duplicate what's on our intranet homepage (on SharePoint) anyway... has anyone found anything like a Viva Insights webpart as I think having that wellbeing stuff on an intranet homepage somewhere might be useful? Or even the emoticon voting section...

I'm very new to Viva and trying to get my head around it all, and how it can fit into our existing comms channels

Viva connections and teams

Hello everyone,

I have created a website in sharepoint in my work and I have connected it to viva connections. Is it possible that a notification is sent, in some way, when a news is posted on the web? Preferably a notice in teams

Viva creates obligations to follow-up on spam

GoDaddy is in a process of forcing all of its email customers to use Microsoft 365. I moved several domains to different email servers and even spun up a Windows box to host MailEnable in order to avoid a 1500% increase in my email costs ($39.99/year to $6000/year) upon moving to Microsoft 365. But one domain presented a situation that made it easier to go along for the ride.

Earlier this week I received one of those spam messages where the spammer wants to know when would be a good time to set up a meeting. He suggested some dates and times. I didn't see the email until the next day, when I also got this weird email from a noreply address at Microsoft claiming that I needed to make a decision about whether or not I'd be attending a meeting. Turns out this new product called "Viva" was reading my email, including unwanted and unwelcome email, and turning it into obligations and responsibilities.

Attempts to learn more or configure my preferences prompted me to log into a Microsoft account, which I didn't think I even had. After doing some searching to figure out what Viva even was, I realized I needed to log into my email account. Apparently my domain's administrator (i.e. me) had authorized Microsoft to start reading my email and putting new things on my to-do list. Yeah, that didn't happen, dude.

I was able to disable Viva permanently and have launched into the process of moving the domain to a different email host, despite the protestations of my users.

I note that all of the posts here are from Microsoft employees(?) or fanbois(?) and not a lot from victims of Viva. I note further that the first several pages of search results for Microsoft Viva are pages on microsoft.com.

I don't think anyone wants this wierd app. It seems to be aimed at slogan-generating HR types who need a button to press to see all their "praise messages" to get a little self-affirmation every morning. That ain't me, babe.

Question: Content not showing

I'm trying to get SharePoint set up as a provider in Viva, but it's not working. When I go in to Viva Learning, I can see my organization but it disappears after about 2 seconds of trying to load. I have tried reconfiguring but still having the same result. If I go into the search area and filter, I see my organization as an option, but when I select it, there are no items. I've had content in the folders that I am pointing to for several days now and it shows the sync for SharePoint as being successful.

Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Version control and workflow

Hi, does anyone have any insight/resources/links about using a formal version control and approval lifecycle around Viva topics. Currently we use sharepoint which is just about usable although clunky, especially in retrieving all historic versions. What is the thinking about the maturity of Viva Topics in this overall space?
