Yes a laptop and a hard drive. Not sure how they knew the password.

She knew about Annie's issues with wearing the suit too, so she probably gets the memories of the people she shapeshifts.

I think this is the case, There is a "shapeshifter monster" in Supernatural (the other series from the show-runner) that I'm sure this shapeshifter is a reference, as the transformation is the same and had that weird thing in the eyes.

In the series, they could copy the memories as long as they kept the victims alive.

If they also get the memories then they would be hella op. You just need to touch someone, maybe also turn into them, and now you know all their secrets.

I feel we can infer it is part of the shapeshifter's powers; they can also get access to partial memories or more recent memories - the shapeshifter also knew about the suit, Hughie and Annie's latest conversations, where the safe and laptop were located and such

 

There was also an interesting creative decision to show their powers upon contact, there was like a focus on the old lady's eyes (which is sometimes linked to memory/identity/soul/personality)

They seemed to be able to take some degree of memories from people they had attuned to. How did they know about Starlight throwing out the suit? They brought it up before Hugie.

Think it might be more like a Skrull memory thing where they have limited access to some recent memories but not long term ones.

The new supe seems to be very similar to shapeshifters from supernatural. They also shapeshifted by ripping off their skin and they got memories of the person they shifted to. Maybe they are going for a similar thing here.

I’m guessing from what we saw that when the shapeshifter touches someone, that means not only do they transform into that person but also have all of their memories as well. They completely, mind and body, become that person

I think this changling is able to absorb the memories of people that they copy the shape of. Like a touch-telepathy.

She saw Hughie closing the safe box, right? I dunno if that was before or after she had taken Starlight’s shape, but anyway I guess Hughie could have open the safe for taking his computer out once she was already there and she just looked at the combination. There’s no reason Hughie would be super secretive using the password in front of his supposed girlfriend.

You don't need to know the passcode. Just destroy the laptop. But I think Hughie might have backed it up, but probably not.

I think she’s gains memories. When she first walked into the room she brought up the dumpster fire talk and knew where the suit was.

Hughie was working on the laptop when he and Annie were talking earlier in the episode. It had the pictures proving Vic is a supe. He then locks it in the safe.

Knowing the passcode is a little more up in the air. Hughie probably told Annie and the shapeshifter absorbs memories. Or she took the memories directly from Hughie while she was sleeping with him. Feel like we’ll get a shapeshifter Hughie in the finale
