The state of Missouri has executed Marcellus Williams, despite the prosecution asking for a stay due to him potentially being innocent.

He has repeatedly refused to free prisoners that have had their convictions overturned. Fuck this guy

Gotta be tough on crime, you know, even at the expense of the innocent!

We all know what “tough on crime” means.

Tough on minorities.

Means he keeps minorities locked up or just kills them

Gotta kill 1000 minorities a day to punish the orange ones crimes! Has he learned anything yet?

Better a thousand innocent men die than one guilty man go free.

Isn’t there a saying about letting 1000 guilty men free rather than prosecuting one innocent? What happened to that?

Including at least one that was turned over due to a finding of 'actual innocence', a very rare finding.

Actually it’s not rare. In curtain states the number of innocent people being wrongly imprisoned is high. The fact that so many spend their lives behind bars instead of being released Demonstrates just how unjust our justice system is.

I think they mean "finding" in the legal sense of the term.

Correct, a finding of “actual innocence” rather than just “not guilty”

Ok but if he’s “not guilty” why give him life? I understand there’s a legal difference between not guilty and innocent. But if he didn’t do or there’s potential evidence that he didn’t this should’ve never happened. It’s fk’d up either way.

The case that I’m referencing the court had ordered his release after the overturning of the conviction with the finding of actual innocence. The state AG took it to the state Supreme Court for a stay while he was being processed out. He was eventually released but it took a while.

« Mr. Bell, a Democrat who recently won the Democratic primary for a congressional seat, also wrote that there was ample reason to believe that Mr. Williams was innocent.

A hearing on Mr. Bell’s motion was scheduled for August. But just before that date, his office received a new analysis of the DNA on the murder weapon, a kitchen knife.

The finding led Mr. Bell to back away from the assertion that Mr. Williams was innocent. »

The innocence claim is a disinformation campaign by bad actors and parroted by low information people intended to foment civil unrest.

That is stochastic terrorism.

OMG!! HE NEEDS TO BE FIRED! SOUNDS LIKE HE'S A TRUMPER

I mean sounds like he (A.G.) committed murder to me.

It seems like Missouri is happy to use the death penalty on murders so... I'll let you do the math.

However the outcome of state killing murders on dubious grounds appears to be condoned by the Missouri A.G. Bailey so I am sure he won't object to his punishment and if he does Missouri won't listen as is now precedent thanks to Mr. Bailey.

I mean, he can be dickhead regardless of political alignment.

True, but in this case unlikely. We know which side the racists are on.

Thank you

I have to agree with the next comment. We all know who the racist candidate is. He's made it very clear.

True if you’re willing to take that 8:2 chance. Btw political sportsbook betting is on the books (lol) to be legalized in the US

To overturn a conviction is to admit that the State made a mistake. The State doesn't make mistakes.

No joke, it's likely the mentality here. Racism is probably in there somewhere too

This has to be illegal! How does he get away with it?
