A desire to help feed people without destroying the planet....
Most of this tech ultimately comes from research universities, most of which are public. Most of the research grants are funded by governments. There are other powerful incentives out there. It's wild, frankly, to hear people suggest that getting rich is the only incentive.

Exactly. They put all the time and money into R&D. They should be allowed to own it. What other incentive would there be?
