Butcher was right. Season 4

Hughie had it backwards. It's the desensitization that made him sympathize with Victoria Neumann. Someone who has murder victims at least in the double digits, very conservatively counting only on-screen killings. And most of those were cold-blooded and for Machiavellian reasons. She had an understandable point of view, and deserves more sympathy than Homelander, who deserves more than none. Sure, she was manipulated, but there was no sign she wouldn't kill more innocent people given a reason. There isn't room in the world for a bulletproof blood-Magneto, unless maybe she's been conditioned from childhood to abhor all violence and devoted her life to medicine. If you had a good opportunity to kill Victoria Neumann, that would be the ethical thing to do.

I took it to kind of be mocking that moment when our hero gives the great emotional speech about how if we just try to understand each other, hold hands, and sing Kumbaya together we can defeat any threat.

Only for the realist to do what Butcher did for the reasons you said. Hughie's not going to save us by winning hearts and minds.

But Hughie has saved people that way. Butcher has saved others his way. I think the only way we get saved is a combination of the Angel and the Devil

Power corrupts and these supes are like gods amongst humans and that makes them lose empathy. How much good can most of them really do compared to how much bad they can do? Neuman has the power to explode heads what good can that do the world? The supes that could potentially do the most good off the top of my head are probably The Deep and Sage. Sage can use her intelligence to advance science and create plans to make the world better and The Peak can help see life and advance scientific research by communicating with animals and exploring the depths of the sea. Supes like Soldier Boy and Neo Noir are relatively harmless because they can be fairly easily neutralized and can't move very fast so could only cause limited damage if they went rogue. Homelander is very dangerous because he can fly very fast and create huge damage with his eye lasers and is very hard to neutralize. Most supes are at best not much use for doing good and a risk for causing limited damage so it would be better off without them. Homelander has to go. The Peak could be a great asset if he fell in line. Neuman wasn't particularly dangerous on a large scale in terms of her powers but he ruthless ambition made her dangerous but this would be the same without her powers. Sage is interesting if she had the personality of Neuman she would be an even more dangerous version of her. If she could be used for good she could be a great asset but she could also use her skills for great evil. The plus side of Sage is that she could easily be killed if needed. I'd Kill Homelander and try to convert the other supes for good but keep them under close watch. Sage is by far the most difficult one to handle after Homelander.

tbf neumans power is blood manipulation, she can do more than pop heads and could help in the medical field

That's possible too depending on how exactly her power works.

Maybe it's an spoiler but we've seen it happening. Neuman's power has way more uses than just headpopping
