The state of Missouri has executed Marcellus Williams, despite the prosecution asking for a stay due to him potentially being innocent.

Apparently the victim’s family was against his execution, too, and urged the state to change his sentence to life in prison. Joy Reid mentioned it in her closing segment on tonight’s show.

This is such a sad, disgusting moment in this state’s history.

The victim's family are against the death penalty. They don't believe he was innocent.

I didn’t say they believed he was innocent. I said they were against him being executed.
