Those were brand new bands that didn’t want to play the prior band’s music.

There are quite a few bands that have changed vocalists and kept the same name with continued success though. AC/DC, Van Halen black Savbath, etc

Killswitch Engage switched singers, then switched back to the original years later and was pretty excellent through it all.
